★★★★★
113 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS249424
Manufacturer Part Number WB44X200
This is a 240 volt bake element for your oven or range. The kit comes with two installation screws and the element. The element functions by supplying heat from the bottom of the oven to bake or cook your food. You may need to replace the bake element if your oven is not heating properly. This is a black metal part (Width 13 inches, length 16.5 inches, depth 1-1/2 inches ) which can be installed onto your range with a screwdriver. Installation is rated as "medium" difficulty. This element is the part that heats to allow cooking, and if broken or missing you'll be unable to cook. This part attaches to the lower section of the range. Refer to your model number and user manual to ensure this part is right for you. Each screw gets screwed into each wire terminal with a Phillips screw driver. Hold the wires forward to make sure the wires do not fall back through the rear of the oven. Unplug your appliance or shut off your circuit breaker to the appliance before installing the new part.

The hardest part was removing the old nuthead screws off the old bake burner. Once those were off installing the new bake element was simple. One screw in each wire terminal, two hex head screws to hold the unit in place. Works like a charm! Read more...

Hotpoint Range Broil Element
★★★★★
★★★★★
24 Reviews
PartSelect Number PS249411
Manufacturer Part Number WB44X173
The broil element is located at the top of the oven and gives off heat in order to bake evenly. If you notice that the element is not heating up or is not cooking evenly it could be because it is broken or burnt out. The depth of the screw-on terminals is 2-3/4 inches and they are 1-1/4 inches apart. Does not include mounting bracket. All you need for this simple repair is small screwdriver. To complete this repair, you will need to first turn the oven off (or shut off the house circuit breaker), remove the two screws that are holding the old element in place, remove the two wires from the old part, and then connect them to the new part and screw back into place.

Needed to replace cracked bake & broil element
This repair is very simple and only required about 15-20 minutes per unit. After turning off the power to your oven at the main breaker box, it's just a matter of removing two 1/4" screws and pulling out the units. The tricky part is removing the power plugs to the elements and not letting them slip back into the insulation. Once you plug in the new elements and screw them back in you are good to go. Once note, while you have everything out, it is a great opportunity to give your oven a good cleaning. Read more...

PartSelect Number PS249247

At the floor of your electric oven is the bake element. This partially open-style element comes with push-on terminals. The bake element will likely provide most of the heat for baking. Therefore, if the oven is not heating properly, or if food is burnt on top and undercooked below, your bake element may be at fault. If you can see that the element has been separated or blistered, you should replace the part immediately. If there is no visible damage, turn the oven on and check to see if the element heats evenly. If the element is not heating evenly, or if it is not heating at all, use a multi-meter to test for electrical continuity to see if the element needs replacing.

Baking element and dual stovetop burner were fried
Baking element:First, turn off your breaker so you don't get injured. Using a small nut driver, remove the two screws that hold the element into the back of the oven. Once the screws are out, the element slides out, toward the oven opening. Be careful not to pull too hard, or the wires could disconnect from the back and be difficult to retrieve. Once the wires are exposed, disconnect them from the terminals. Attach them back to the new element, and put it back in. EASY For the stovetop, this is a glass top, so the burners are underneath. There are two small screws on the underside of the stove top, where the oven door closes. Remove those screws and then lift the front of the entire stove top. It will hinge at the back. There are two screws and little metal brackets that hold the burner in place. Remove those screws and brackets, disconnect the wires, and be sure to remember which wire goes where. Reattach the wires and screw the brackets back into the burner. Refasten the stovetop and you are good to go. Read more...
