My cooktop knob melted
I had used a pan too large for the middle burner - result: melted knob. Just pulled the old one off (up and straight) and then pushed the new one down firmly. Make sure the indicator line is pointing at you, so the flat side of the spindle matched the flat side of the hole on the knob. Easy peasy. Read more...

i called PS and to get new knobs--but wait!!!!! i couldnt find a part # for the stove top or the knobs,,the PS agent stayed with me while we browsed the entire inventory,,,we found one that looked like the old ones,,the agent sent it,,,it didnt fit right,,,so i called her again and we found another knob that looked like a proper replacement--IT WORKED,,The PS agent then told me how to return the other knob for a refund,,,The PS agent was outstanding,,,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Burner knobs broken and discolored
