what causes this part to leak? is there any other part I may need to replace?
For model number 66512833k311
Hello Denis, thank you for contacting us. The diverter motor leaks either because of a faulty diffuser, part number PS11755348, or the diverter motor itself is damaged. We would suggest checking the diffuser before replacing the motor. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order. Thanks again for reaching out!

My dishwasher is dripping from what appears to be the bottom of the diverter motor, is it that part i should replace?
For model number KDTM404EBS0
Hi Greg, thank you for your inquiry. If your dishwasher is leaking from the motor area, then most probably the diverter motor, part number PS11730993, is damaged. A dishwasher's diverter motor operates a diverter disc to redirect the water to the upper spray arm or arms. If the motor itself is damaged, it can potentially leak water behind the lower access panel. Inspect the motor housing for any cracks, if it is faulty, you may need to replace the diverter motor. We hope this information helps!

My Kitchenaid Dishwasher is 7 years old and has been well cared for. I just discovered a meaningful leak coming from I believe the diverter motor under the washer. I dont know if it just needs a new "diffuser" of the difuser motor as well. Do you think it's worth repairing the unit with both the diffuser and the diverter motor or just get a new dish washer?
For model number KDTM704ESSO
Hello Tom, thank you for your question. The diverter motor leaks either because of a faulty diffuser, part number PS11755348, or the diverter motor PS11730993 itself is damaged. We would suggest checking the diffuser before replacing the motor. We hope this helps.

W10843811, I purchased a defuser and have not installed yet. I was also told it could be the rubber seal around the shaft of the motor. Is this possible and if so what is the part # for the rubber seal. My model # for my dishwasher is

Overwhelming burning rubber type smell when water coming in or going out
For model number GU2400XTPS6 Whirlpool Dishwasher
Hi Christine, thank you for your question! Your dishwasher has a heating element that is used to heat up water and to speed up moisture removal from your dishes and your appliance's interior. If you notice a burning plastic smell coming from your dishwasher while it is in use, it could be the case that plastic has come into contact with the heating element. A clogged or dirty filter can also lead to a burning smell in the dishwasher. If food particles and debris build up in the filter, they can become overheated and emit a burning odor. Loose or damaged wiring can also cause electrical issues in your dishwasher. Check for any frayed wires or loose connections and tighten them if necessary. Inspect the heating element, part number PS8260087, in your dishwasher for any signs of damage or wear. If you notice any cracks or breaks in the element, it will need to be replaced. We hope this information helps!
