This window pack assembly, also known as inner door glass, is supplied directly by the manufacturer for use in range ovens. It has measurements of approximately 22 inches by 14 inches. The inner door glass is situated between the outer door panel and the oven cavity. It acts as a barrier between the heat generated by the oven and the external environment. This provides insulation and protection while allowing users to easily view the oven cavity. It is made of tempered glass and is resistant to high temperatures and thermal shock. If the inner door glass becomes damaged or cracked, heat will escape from the oven, you may be unable to see the contents of the oven and the risk of injury will be increased.

Something in oven exploded and stained glass so couldn’t see what’s baking
Ordered window pack from PartSelect then removed oven door from front of stove, then removed back of door and silver backing and glass pack. Dropped new glass into place. Replaced all backing,put door back onto stove. Tip. When removing screw keep them separated from each other as not to get mixed up when putting everything together. The technician must correctly test the microwave for leaks in the microwave shield before you can safely use the microwave.

Metal pegs for replacement door were not cut down to correct length
It was clear that the metal pegs that sit in the microwave frame were not cut down to the right size. The cut line was there but there was extra metal material.

I made a few trips to Loews before finally purchasing a dremel and was able to grind down the excess metal on the pegs. Once that was complete the door assembly fell right into place.

Note: You do have to take the squire plastic interior frame piece out to have extra room to fit the top peg in. Once the door locks into the frame holes just pop the plastic frame back in and your are done. Read more...

Range door glass broke
Received new glass. Removed the handle assembly from the range door (2 screws on each side on the inside of the range door). Inserted glass and had to align the side rails while hold the glass and then mount the handle assembly. This was doable but required 2 people to complete. Read more...

bottom trim had rusted, so we needed new piece
Removed oven door (made sure hinges were locked open and stayed open). Remove part on top of trim, removed rusted trim and replaced with new trim. Replace outside door glass
first remove lower drawer to access 3 1/4” door trim screws. Use nutdriver to remove 3 door trim screws on lower portion of door.
Next, remove 2 door handle screws using small star(torch) wrench..
Carefully install new replacement glass inside outside door trim assembly by removing 2 of the inside door handle assembly screws using 1/4” nutdriver. Then carefully installing glass and reassembling all. Be Patient!! Take your time. This glass panel is extremely fragile! Read more...
